A Committee has been constituted on the Railways under the Chairmanship of Shri. C.L. Kaw (Retd.)Chairman, Railway Board for holding the Secret Ballot for recognition of Railway Trade Unions.

The Terms of Reference of Committee are as under:-
i) To frame the modalities to conduct the secret ballot to recognize the Unions;
ii) To form code of conduct/discipline for the elections on the lines of Code of discipline of Ministry of Labour suitable for Indian Railways;
iii) To function as a nodal body for conducting and supervising the secret ballot;and
iv) To suggest the Mechanism for arbitration on disputes arising out of elections.
(Notice regarding formation of the above-said Committee already displayed on the notice boards of Zonal Railway Headquarter Offices).

Only those Registered Railway Trade Unions which represent all categories of Group ‘C’ and Group ‘D’ employees of Indian Railways may send their views/suggestions, if any, on the above issues within 10 days of publication of this advertisement either by post at the following address:
